Subiaco AFC is pleased to announce the coaching appointments for our State League Division 2 program ahead of the 2027 season, with Steve Atkins appointed as Head Coach of our State League Division 2 Reserves and Cameron Bunney appointed as Head Coach of our State League Division 2 U18s.
Both appointments reflect the club’s continued focus on developing players, strengthening our pathway from junior football into senior football and building a strong coaching structure across our State League program.
Steve Atkins – State League Division 2 Reserves
Subiaco AFC is delighted to welcome Steve Atkins as Head Coach of our State League Division 2 Reserves for the 2027 season.
Steve holds an FFA A Diploma and brings extensive coaching experience across NPL and state-level football. Throughout his coaching career, he has developed a strong reputation for player development, high standards and creating positive team environments built around accountability, communication and collective success.
His coaching philosophy centres on clear communication, structured and purposeful training, tactical detail and creating an environment where players are empowered to perform at their best. Steve’s analytical approach and strong leadership will provide an excellent platform for our Reserves players as they continue their development within the Subiaco pathway.
Steve is also passionate about creating positive and inclusive team cultures, with a strong focus on building confidence, accountability and a sense of belonging among his players. His commitment to continual improvement aligns closely with the club’s focus on developing players both individually and collectively.
Steve’s experience, leadership and commitment to player development will be a valuable addition to our State League program as he leads our Division 2 Reserves and helps drive the next generation of Subiaco players towards senior football.
We look forward to welcoming Steve to the club and seeing him take charge of the Reserves in 2027.
Cameron Bunney – State League Division 2 U18s
Subiaco AFC is also pleased to announce Cameron Bunney as Head Coach of our State League Division 2 U18s for the 2027 season.
Cameron holds his FFA/AFC B Diploma and has been coaching at Subiaco AFC since 2019. Since 2020, he has been an integral part of our Academy, MiniRoos and Juniors programs, most recently serving as Head Coach of our U14 JDL Academy group.
Cameron’s connection with Subiaco AFC extends well beyond his coaching career. A former Subiaco junior and amateurs player himself, Cameron has more than 12 years of connection to the club, giving him a strong understanding of our culture, player pathway and the journey young players undertake as they progress through the club.
Highly motivated and dedicated to youth development, Cameron will play an important role in helping our U18 players make the transition towards senior football. His knowledge of our junior programs and understanding of the club’s pathway will be particularly valuable as we continue to strengthen the connection between our Academy, junior and senior programs.
Cameron is committed to creating an environment where young players can develop their football, build confidence and understand what is required to progress to the next level.
We look forward to seeing Cameron lead our State League Division 2 U18s and continue his contribution to the development of Subiaco’s next generation of players.
