It is with great sadness that we shared the news of Eric Spicer’s passing in late December 2023. Through Eric’s passing, his family hopes to bring more awareness towards Hypoxic Blackout otherwise known as Shallow Water Blackout. It’s thought to be the number one cause of drowning amongst competent swimmers and yet most of us are very unaware of its risk. Eric was well-known throughout Subiaco AFC as a player, coach and men’s coordinator. His smiling face and infectious enthusiasm will be sorely missed at Rosalie Park. Our heart goes out to his family and love ones, and we hope this small gestures will continue to remember Eric’s efforts and passion.
The club will be holding a match in memory of Eric on Friday, 8 March at Rosalie Park for a 7pm kick off. The club house bar and canteen will be open. The canteen will be serving beef burgers, cheese burger and chips, to pre-order, please text 040 153 8363.
