Junior Leagues: Girls and Boys (U12-U18)
Football West (FW) allocates referees for all Junior Girls and Boys Leagues, including cups and finals.
Team Managers are responsible for settling payment with the referee prior to the start of the match.
The Club recommends that Team Managers collect contributions from each player at the start of the season to cover referee fees for all games, allowing for cup games and finals.
Notice of matches that have NOT been allocated a FW referee are promulgated on the FW Website Referee page each Friday before the upcoming fixture.
If no FW referee has been provided, the home team is responsible for providing a referee. A whistle and linesperson flags are available from the clubhouse. Please return promptly after your game.
Team Managers are responsible for providing one linesman at every home and away game, who must report to the referee prior to the start of the match. The Roles and Responsibilities of an Assistant Referee document provides guidelines and instructions which may be useful.
MiniRoos Home Games (U8-U11)
In line with our community culture, the Club will continue to runs its “Football Against Verbal Abuse” (FAVA) Referee Program in 2017.
The aim of this program is to encourage older Club players to gain refereeing experience and earn some pocket money! This allows parents of MiniRoos players to watch their children play, instead of being rostered to referee.
FAVA Referees are Subiaco AFC players aged U13 (ie born 2004) or older and hold a valid FW Referee Laws of the Game Certificate.
MiniRoos Team Managers:
If a MiniRoos Team would like to have a FAVA referee rostered to referee their home games they need to opt-in by completed the FAVA Referee Request Form.
You need to pay the FAVA referee $20 at the start of each match (approx $2 per player).
You will be sent the details of your FAVA Referee on the Thur or Fri prior to your Sunday match.
Obtain your Laws of the Game Certification on the FW Website. (You will need to use your FFA number to register online)
Complete the FAVA Referee Application Form (below).
You will be provided a Club referee shirt (to be returned at the end of the season).
Make sure you bring a whistle, pencil and stopwatch to each match.
Impartial shorts and socks must be worn (ie no Club kit).
