Junior Leagues: Girls and Boys (13s-18s)
Football West (FW) allocates referees for all Junior Girls and Boys Leagues, including cups and finals.
Team Managers are responsible for settling payment with the referee prior to the start of the match.
Once referee fees have been published by FW, we will post them here.
The Club recommends that Team Managers collect contributions from each player at the start of the season to cover referee fees for all games, allowing for cup games and finals.
Notice of matches that have NOT been allocated a FW referee are promulgated on the FW Website Referee page each Friday before the upcoming fixture.
If no FW Referee has been allocated, or if the Referee does not show by 10mins before kick off time, the home team is responsible for providing a referee. A whistle and assistant referee flags are available from the clubhouse. Please return promptly after your game.
Team Managers are responsible for providing one assistant referee at every home AND away game, who must report to the referee prior to the start of the match. The Roles and Responsibilities of an Assistant Referee document provides guidelines and instructions which may be useful.
MiniRoos Home Games (8s-12s)
In line with our community culture, our “Football Against Verbal Abuse” (FAVA) Referee Program is offered each season.
The aim of this program is to encourage older Club players to gain valuable refereeing experience and earn some pocket money! This allows parents of MiniRoos players to watch their children play, instead of being rostered to referee.
FAVA Referees can be any Subiaco AFC player in the 13s-18s age groups (ie born 2006 or earlier) providing they hold a valid FW Referee Laws of the Game Certificate.

MiniRoos Team Managers:
If your 8s-12s Team would like to have a FAVA referee rostered to referee your home game please opt-in by completing the FAVA Referee Request Form, which will be posted here once Team
Allocation for 2020 is completed.
You will need to pay the FAVA referee $20 at the start of your match (approx $2 per player, per week).
You will be sent the details of your FAVA Referee on the Thur or Fri prior to each home match.
FAVA Referees:
Any 13s-18s Subiaco AFC players interested in being a FAVA Referee for 2020 will need to hold a valid Laws of the Game Certificate AND apply via the FAVA Referee Opt In Form, which will be posted here once Team Allocation for 2020 is completed.
The online Laws of the Game course can be access via the FW Website.
Successful FAVA Referees will be provided a Club referee shirt, which is to be returned at the end of the season.
Please note: Subiaco AFC players will be prioritised as referees.
At each match FAVA Referees must:
- bring a whistle, pencil and stopwatch;
- wear impartial shorts and socks (ie no Club kit); and
- familiarise themselves with the modified rules appropriate to the level of MiniRoos match they are refereeing.
