Football Department

The Subiaco AFC Football Department comprises our Club President, Vice President of Football, Technical Directors, and all coaches.

We are proud to have Adi Juric and Branko Jelic as our Technical Directors. They share our passion for community and player development and recognise the potential within the Club and its members. Under the guidance of Adi and Branko, we hope all Subiaco AFC players will enjoy the opportunity to develop as footballers and feel a genuine connection to the world game.

Maria Hulls, a former Matilda and Australian international futsal player, has also joined Subiaco AFC as our Female Football Ambassador. We are excited to have Maria on board as she champions female participation, development, and excellence in football at Subiaco AFC.

Technical Director

Adi brings a wealth of football knowledge to Subiaco AFC, with over 25 years’ experience in such diverse roles as: coach, psychologist and football analyst. Adi holds a degree in sports psychology, a UEFA Pro-Diploma coaching licence and UEFA Instructors Licence. He has worked as a member of coaching staff at a number of professional clubs in Europe, as well as being the Nigerian Football Team attaché at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Recently, Adi has been involved with the Bosnian national team, including international friendly wins against Switzerland and Luxembourg in March 2016. Prior to joining Subiaco he was the Technical Director and Head of Youth Development at Bayswater City Soccer Club.

Branko knows what it takes to compete at the highest level, having played professionally for 16 years. His career included four years at Serbian powerhouse Red Star Belgrade and this led to a move to the Chinese Super League with Beijing Guoan where he won the league’s Most Valuable Player and Golden Boot with 21 goals in 2005. Following his time in China, he returned to Europe to play in the German Bundesliga with FC Energie Cottbus before finishing his professional career at Perth Glory, where he played 33 matches. Branko holds a UEFA A coaching licence and prior to joining Subiaco he worked with the Glory as a youth coach in their Community Development Program and coached their 16s NPL side.

Female Football Ambassador

Maria grew up in Whyalla, South Australia, and enjoyed a decorated playing career, winning numerous domestic and state league titles, cup competitions, and masters tournaments with her state team. She was selected for the Matildas squad in 1988 and played four games in the Oceania Cup Tournament in Brisbane in 1989. Maria also played a pioneering role in futsal, representing Australia in international tours across New Zealand, the USA, and the UK. After retiring from top-level competition in 2002, Maria remained involved in the sport, playing and coaching at various levels. In 2023, she started Walking Football as a new way to stay connected to the game. She recently represented Australia as both player and coach at the IWFF World Championships in Malmö, Sweden, leading the Walkaroos Women’s National Squad.
