Subiaco AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Greg Farrell as their NPLW Head Coach for 2022. Farrell is no stranger to the NPLW, having been the Director of Female Football at Northern Redbacks and Perth Redstar. For several seasons with the Northern Redbacks, he was Assistant Coach for the first team, winning the league and cup double in 2019, and the NPLW Top Four final in 2020. 2020 was a successful season as Farrell also took the U23s all the way to the final.
Though the Subi appointment comes very late in the pre-season, Farrell is working on making sure his new squad is as prepared as possible.‘Everyone has been very welcoming,’ he said on meeting his players this week. ‘Our first session set a standard that we’ll be looking now to improve upon throughout the season.’
Director of Football at Subiaco AFC, Adi Juric, says that Farrell’s heavy involvement in futsal and soccer for many years means that he has a lot to contribute to the club.‘Greg is ambitious, and he’s also someone who wants to be part of a team. After meeting with him, it was clear that he was in for the long haul.’
The NPLW season kicks off on April 1 with Subiaco AFC facing 2020 and 2021 champions MUM FC in the first round.
