Happy New Year to everyone at Subiaco AFC...
Now that almost all of our teams have started pre-season training, it's time to send a few updates and inform any new players about Subiaco AFC (Seniors).
Teams
Subiaco AFC (Seniors) will be fielding around 14 teams in the Saturday and Sunday competitions in 2012. The number of teams are yet to be finalised because it depends on player registrations. Divisions are also still to be confirmed because of Football West competition reorganisation. But here is a brief outline of the possible final line up:
Mens State (2) - Firsts and reserves
Womens State (2) - Firsts and reserves
Mens Amateur (4) - 3rd Div and reserves, 4th Div and reserves
Mens Masters (3) - Premier, North Div 2, Golden Oldies
Womens Social (3) - Leagues to be finalised and rego numbers will dictate number of teams
Committee
Rob Bromfield kindly took up the role as vice president for the Mens Amateur Section for 2012. The club greatly appreciates the time Rob puts in to the club and the lads are looking forward to having a successful 2012. If anyone wants to lend Rob a hand with the Mens Amateur operational committee, please get in touch with him on the details at the foot of the email.
The same goes for all operational committees... If you are keen to help make Subiaco AFC (Seniors)
a success, even if it's just helping out with the odd job here and there, please get in touch with your relevant VP. Contact details are posted on the Committee Page. In the continued absence of a Mens State VP, please contact Rob Clements... FYI - this is a very important position that the clubs needs to fill and we're still looking for one if anyone is keen to help out.
Also, Subiaco AFC (Seniors) is still looking for a social officer and equipment officer for 2012...
Registrations
Subiaco AFC (Seniors) plans to hold set rego days prior to the start of the season. Details will be supplied in due course. Kerrie will be supported by a number of (already identified) assistant registrars from the individual operating committees. Thanks to those that have put their hands up to help.
Season Opener Social Event
Subiaco AFC (Seniors) is planning to hold an event prior to the start of everyones season to get everyone together and welcome new players to the club. Again, the details are yet to be finalised, but it may be held in conjunction with a pre-season friendly, similar to the kit launch that was held last year on the evening of a Masters night game.
Club Facebook Page
Subiaco AFC (Seniors) facebook page has been re-started for 2012. It is an open group and there for all. It's the place to discuss and share everything Subiaco AFC (Seniors) - results, events, photos, social, etc. So we would encourage everyone to feel free to post any info they want on the page to improve the club communication and get more people involved.
Club Communication
At present, Subiaco AFC (Seniors) has over 300 players, coaches, ex-players and interested parties on the club mailing list. We plan to grow this with the new recruits in the coming weeks. If you know of anyone not getting regular club emails, pass their details on to your VP and we will get them added to the list.
Equally, if you want to stop getting battered with Subiaco AFC (Seniors) emails (why!?), let me know by reply and we'll get you evicted from the list.
If you do have any information that you want to be passed on to the wider club, just let me know.
Think that'll do for now...
Cheers
Rossco
